This is what is happening

I need new sponsors for my soccer shoes. The pair that use now, Adidas Samba, are too long and narrow. Too long that the toe of the shoe hits the ground before the inside of my feet stikes the ball, taking away much of the force and causing the ball to rise. I bungled and shot at goal last night. My teammates weren't mad because we were up by 7-0 at that point.

I have turned into a Wikipedia addict. Most of my more sophisticated friends have sworn off it. But like philosophy, heavy metal music and quantum theory, I was initiated to Wikipedia much later. So the fascination is to stay for a while.

Here are some of the topics I searched and surfed last couple of weeks.

EZLN, EPL, FMLN, FSLN - all left wing movements in Mexico and central America.

Dual Power. A strategy proposed by Lenin for the revolutionary forces to defeat the establishment while alternative institutions created by them compete with those created by the enemy. It is a long article explaining how this has been adapted by the Zapatista.

CAFTA.

Roman History, Punic wars especially. I found couple of sites (outside wikipedia) that explained with diagrams, the battles of Cannae and Zama. Quite intersting.

The EPR paradox. "Schrodinger's cat" thought experiment. From there, I learnt recently of Schrodinger's interest in Vedanta. In his book Mein Welten sicht, he deals with Maya and Advaita of Sankara.

Ozzfest, Deftones, Rob Zombie, GWAR.

Lucky Lucciano, Frank Costello and the other mafia bosses of New York sindicate, especially since I have started watching past episodes of The Sopranos on HBO On Demand.

Salesians of Don Bosco. I went a school run by these guys and had a great time while I was there.
